Why I Am Different
I learned most of what I know about planning, building and operating a CEA project the hard way. My goal is to share that experience with you to help prepare you to succeed.
We are in a wonderful industry. What life choices could be better than to devote oneself to growing healthy food? But, it is not enough to do just that – one must devise a realistic business model that will permit you to grow healthy food in a profitable manner over time. And, since our CEA industry has such large initial capital costs, you must devise a model that will permit you to have long term success.
I will provide objective analysis without the “love that blinds” so many in the beginning (I know, I had that too). Simply put, your business must be profitable long-term if it is to survive.
My newsletters will also take that approach. You won’t find any greenwashing from me – no articles about how great our industry is, without at least also presenting the real issues, risks and problems that our industry has. That is my promise to everyone I will work with, and write for.
Who is this content intended for?
People already in the industry – owners, managers, companies. I can offer management advice, business advice on a range of issues (logistics, labor, hiring, sales, marketing, on whether and/or how to expand, where to expand), and likewise, on whether or how to pull back and retrench. I can also help you find sources of funds – incentive programs, loans, grants, potential investors – for growth and capital improvements.
People interested in starting a project or investing in the industry - I can help you hire a good team, find the right site for a project, identify what factors to consider in starting or expanding a project, I can help you determine capital costs, find sources of funding, determine what to grow, help you create a useful business model, and more.
I am also NOT a group – IF YOU HIRE ME, YOU GET ME, ALL THE TIME. If there are parts of an issue or task that I cannot handle, I am free to find you the best people in the industry to help on that particular matter. I am beholden to no one. By working on my own, I also have no overhead and no payroll to meet.
